You may have been waiting for this day for a long time - or at least since you gave birth - but leaving Baby for the first time to go out for the night can be a mix of emotions!

Whether you are leaving them with family, friends or your other half, you are sure to do the following ten things.

1. Check your phone constantly

You know, just in case the sitter is calling you...

2. Talk about your baby

You might have taken the night off from mummy duties, but you won’t be able to stop talking about your little one for the whole night.

3. Show everyone pictures of your baby

Not only will you talk about your little one, but you will no doubt end up showing the world and its mother pictures of your baby.

4. Tell everyone just how guilty you feel

Mother’s guilt comes part and parcel with having a baby, believe us! And while you will relish the night out, you will no doubt mention that you feel guilty for leaving them once or twice...

5. Wish you were with your baby

You have been waiting for this night out for weeks, months even, but as soon as you close the front door behind you you’ll no doubt wish you were cuddling right up to your youngster. Resist the urge to go back – you deserve the night off!

6. Question why you left in the first place

Why? Why did I do this?!

7. Constantly say you feel like you’ve forgotten something

Having a baby strapped to your arm for most of the day, it is not surprising you feel like you’ve left something behind!

8. Become the responsible one

Partly because you can’t resist the urge to mother!

9. You spend the whole night talking to other mothers

You need to compare notes with someone!

10. Wonder how you can stay up all night with Baby

Because right now all you want to do is head to bed!
