To be honest
Sometimes the easiest option is to lie but every child needs to know that it is never the right option. It is important you teach them to be honest about things they have done and be accountable for their actions from an early age – this will hold true to them as they grow up.
To be kind
Being kind doesn’t take much effort but it leaves a lasting and positive impression on the receiver of this kindness . Teach your child to treat others how they would like to be treated.
To respect others
Not only should you teach your child to respect authority, another person’s opinion or religion and life choices, but you should also teach your child to respect themselves and their body.
To consider other people’s feelings
Make sure your child knows to consider another person's feelings before doing or saying anything. You never know what kind of day that person is having or what is going on in their home life.
To be polite
Nobody likes a rude person and saying please and thank you is easy. Remember, manners go much further than rudeness.
To be determined
Determination will help your child get through tough tasks or complete something that they are struggling with. It is a value that will hold well when they face a knock back or have an ambition or dream that they want to fulfill.
To be humble
Your child should never feel like they are better than others or to look down on them because they have something or can do something that someone else can’t. Teach them to appreciate their opportunities and be grateful for their talents and to never get too big for their boots that they make someone else feel bad.
