Being a mother is a hard enough job without having to endure the judgment of others, especially when they are raising children of their own; and this is something that Hollywood star Jessica Alba learned the hard way.

The Sin City star, who is mother to seven-year-old Honor and three-year-old Haven, has opened up this week about how ‘mean girls’ made her feel judged and confused when she first became a parent.

In an interview with Yahoo! Parenting, the 34-year-old said: “Doesn’t it feel like the ‘mean girl’ thing from high school sort of just transforms into adulthood through motherhood?”

Touching on her own experience, Jessica added: “This is the first time I’m saying it out loud, but that mean girl stuff happens when your hormones are going crazy…And I feel like maybe it’s just all those hormones, and people don’t know where to put their energy, so they just start clashing.”

The mother-of-two went on to explain how her own negative experiences have shaped the kind of person and mother she is today.

“Now I’m one of those mums that gives you too much advice that you may or may not want…I think we as women – and as mums – need to show younger girls that we support each other no matter what and to try and not be so judgmental,” she added.
