When you were young, free and single, you probably tried to visit as many of the world’s cities as possible, and that needn't change just because you are a mum.
Normally, families will go in search of a beach holiday, overlooking the wonderful city locations for their yearly vacation. So the next time you are booking your holiday, why not head to one of these places instead:
London
Take your little one to the home of Paddington Bear and prince and princesses. Most kids will have already seen Big Ben in films, but wait until you see their expression when they visit the real thing. Hop on a red bus, take a tour of Madame Tussaudes, catch the underground and head to Hyde Park. London is extra special when you bring your little ones along.
New York
The bright lights of New York will quite simply blow your child’s mind. Stroll around Central Park, shop Downtown, catch a yellow cab, hop on a boat to Staten Island and watch the Statue of Liberty as you go by. Don’t forget to shop until you drop and before you head home make sure you go to the Yankee Stadium and experience a baseball game.
Barcelona
Head up the Pac Guell and for an afternoon treat hit The Chocolate Museum – here the whole family will get to indulge in a chocolate delight. Eat plenty of tapas and visit the city’s famous football stadium, Camp Nou, for a truly incredible sight.
Venice
Hop in a Gondola and get a real feel for the true city of Venice. A water taxi out of the main tourist area will take you to the beach and to a side of Venice that many people miss out on. Hire a bike and get out in the Venetian countryside. Don’t come home without sampling all the delicious foods that the Italian city is sure to offer you.
There is nothing quite like experiencing a city through the eyes of a child.
