We have in the past reported on stories where computers and phones containing precious photos and memories have been stolen, and an Australian mum has issued her own plea this week.

Fiona Dillon, of Adelaide in Australia, has appealed for whomever stole a phone containing photographs of her stillborn child to return it to her immediately.

Fiona left her iPhone 6 in a shop earlier this week, and when she returned a few minutes later to retrieve it, she discovered that it had been stolen.

Heartbreakingly, the phone contained precious photos of her son Owen, who was stillborn. Fiona has since launched a campaign pleading for the phone to be returned to her.

Fiona, who is also mum to one-year-old Olive, wrote on Facebook: “Help me get my phone back and recover precious, irreplaceable memories of Owen. This phone contains photos and memories that cannot be replaced. I don’t even care about the phone, I just want the photos back.”

She added: “If you or someone you know has this phone, I urge you to please find it in your heart to come forward and return the phone anonymously to Jimmie’s Take Away at Seaford Meadows, no questions asked.”

Having asked members of the social media channel to share the post, her message has received hundreds of thousands of likes and shares.

We truly hope that Fiona will get her phone and those treasured photos back.
