Dearbhla Kelly is a Career Coach and Guidance Counsellor. She has worked in Adult Guidance, in the Careers Service in Trinity College Dublin, and as a Guidance Counsellor in secondary schools. She provides career coaching for teens and adults. She loves helping people gain career clarity and confidence about the career direction. After coaching sessions, her clients report that they feel more motivated, more confident in interviews, more aware of their skills, better able to articulate their skills, and clearer about their goals.
 
Dearbhla is also a Master Trainer for Winning New Opportunities, a job search skills programme from the University of Michigan. Dearbhla spent eight years living in Japan and has a Masters in Sociology from Kobe University, Japan.
 
Dearbhla is also an author of ‘Career Coach - A Step by Step Guide to Help Your Teen Find Their Life’s Purpose’, published by Gill and Co. Parents say that this book is “easy to read and easy to follow, and full of practical tips”. Dearbhla is also running workshops for parents, and she is particularly interested in how parents can help their teens become more resilient, independent and able to steer their own careers in the future. She recognises that coping skills and managing stress and anxiety are major themes in today’s society.
 
Dearbhla has a significant media role and has appeared on TV3’s Ireland AM, Today FM and has been featured in The Sunday Times and Irish Times as well as many other media outlets.
 
Dearbhla’s special interests include Career Planning, Motivation, Career Promotion, The Future of Work and Wellbeing.
