Feeling chilly? Heres what to do when it’s cold at Center Parcs

Nothing strikes the fear of God into a mum like trying to entertain the children when it is chilly and grey outside. ‘You promised we’d go to the beach,’ they whine as you frantically search the cupboards for Monopoly, Guess Who, Cluedo- heck we’d even settle for Operation.

Going away in the colder months can be a bit of a risk, especially with Ireland’s temperamental weather, but you won’t have to fret about a thing if you’re visiting Center Parcs.

The family holiday destination has everything you could ask for and more to keep the children entertained during the blustery November mornings and chilly December evenings.

For the adventurous children, you must visit the Sports Plaza, and trust us, the kids won’t want to leave.

The Sports Plaza features the Indoor Climbing Adventure, which is ideal for bigger children. The entire family can get involved in a Badminton tournament or perhaps you could test your balance in the roller skating rink?

Rainy afternoons will fly by in the Sports Plaza. You can even pop into the Sports Café and enjoy a warm cup of coffee as the children run about. That’s right, an actual warm cup of coffee that hasn’t been reheated in the microwave three times.

If your children love getting creative then they’ll have plenty to do at Center Parcs. Got a mini Mary Berry at home? Then the Chocolate Chefs Academy and Cupcake Decorating workshops are perfect for them.

The Pottery Painting Studio is the perfect spot for budding artists. Once you’ve chosen a piece of pottery from the huge collection, you can then pick up your brush and start painting your masterpiece, whether that’s a mug, bowl or animal.

What about the mini Einstein? Crazy Science is the one for them.

If you’ve got a Little Mermaid in the family then they’ll adore Mermaids and Sharks. All children love to play pretend and they can transform into a graceful mermaid or a sneaky shark thanks to Center Parcs.

Tiny tots can even get involved in the fun with the fascinating Sensory Play sessions. Babies love to explore, and the special Sensory Play session has been designed just for little ones. Together you can discover different textures, calming sounds and vibrant colours, as well as enjoying some classic nursery rhymes. It’s a wonderful way to bond with your baby and enjoy some peaceful time together.

One of the best things about Center Parcs’ activities is the fact that all of their sessions are led by qualified team members so us mums can all relax and feel reassured knowing the children are in safe hands.

You can check out a full list of activities here. You’d actually be grateful for the colder weather with this many indoor activities available.
