It’s been reported that temperatures will reach as high as 28 degrees tomorrow in some parts of the country.

And while Ireland was hotter than certain parts of Africa today - Met Éireann said it wasn't a dry day for everybody though.

Forecaster Deirdre Lowe, said that parts of the midlands and north west experienced heavy thunder showers this afternoon.

“Today we have had some thunderstorms around parts of Munster, the midlands and up to the North West, but it’s still been warmer than usual there. Over Leinster and east Ulster there were quite a few 25s.”

With reports coming in that tomorrow could be the hottest day of the year, weather warnings have been issued to warn of the dangers of hot weather, as well as the risk of flash floods from possible thunderstorms.
