Ages 1 to 3 years: 7 mg per day
Ages 4 to 8 years: 10 mg per day
Teenage girls: 15mg per day
Teenage boys: 11mg per day
 
It’s not essential that your child gets the recommended daily amount of iron every day. Instead, aim for that amount as an average over the course of a few days.
