You asked

I am worried my freshly coloured blonde hair will turn green on holiday. How can I prevent this?

The sun, sea and pool can all have an undesirable affect on your hair while on holiday, or even at home (when the weather is good). For those with blonde hair, these effects are far more noticeable as the bleach used in most colour treated hair brightens up in the sun. This can result in the hair turning a greenish hue because of the chlorine content in some pools.

To help prevent this from happening, apply a thick layer of conditioner to the hair before going into the sun. This will act as a barrier, preventing the majority of damage to the hair. To completely avoid any damage, cover your hair entirely using a hat, turban or bandana.
