The world mourned when he passed away last year, and now the daughter of the late Robin Williams, Zelda, has opened up on life without her dad.

Appearing on the Today Show this week, the 25-year-old actress made a heartbreaking admission to show host Kate Snow, saying: “I think a lot of people feel his absence. But for me, especially, it’s going to take a lot of work to allow myself to have the sort of fun, happy life that I had.”

“But that’s important. Anybody who has ever lost anyone works very hard to continue that memory in a positive way,” she added.

While Zelda decided to get a hummingbird tattoo in honour of her father’s memory, she revealed that another way in which she is paying tribute to him is by presenting a Noble Award, in honour of his humanitarian work with the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Zelda also revealed that her father’s death has driven her on to draw attention to the stigma of mental health, something which she says his passing has already helped to alleviate.

“I think one of the things that is changing, that is wonderful, is that people are finally starting to approach talking about illnesses that people can’t really see. Nothing happens immediately, but I think we’re on our way,” she added.
