It’s not every day that the future King of England turns two, so it follows that the occasion would be marked in a very special way by the Royal family.

While last week it was announced that a limited edition coin would be issued in his honour, Kensington Palace has delighted the world by sharing an adorable new photo of Prince George ahead of his big day.

The Palace teased the picture reveal on its official Twitter account earlier today, and needless to say, the tot is as cute and cherubic as ever in the never-before-seen shot.

The Prince is no doubt well used to posing for the cameras by now. After getting his first taste of the press on the day of his sister’s birth, George went on to charm the nation once again, waving to well-wishers at Princess Charlotte’s christening this month.

The two-year-old ‘cheeky monkey’ (as dad Prince William describes him) also lit up the camera as he cuddled into his father for Mario Testino’s official christening portraits.

It has been reported that Prince George will celebrate his big day with a 'low-key' gathering at Anmer Hall, surrounded by family and friends.
