Chocolate pancakes

Delicious and sweet, chocolate pancakes are a lovely dessert or treat for the kids.
1 tsp baking soda
235ml low-fat milk
1 egg
3 tbsp caster sugar
110g plain flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder, plus a little extra for dusting
2 tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 tbsp butter, melted
50g chocolate, melted, (optional for drizzling)
In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in the milk and set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the egg and sugar together until thick and pale.
Sift the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt together.
Mix the dry ingredients into the beaten egg mixture adding the milk.
Add the melted butter just till combined.
Heat a non-stick frying pan with a little butter and cook 1-2 tablespoons of the pikelet batter until bubbles appear on the surface.
Flip the pikelets to cook on the other side for 1 minute or until golden brown.
Dust with the cocoa powder and drizzle with the melted chocolate if using.
