Figures released today show that over half of working fathers wish for less stressful jobs so they could spend more time with their children.

Well, celebrities like Shakira are now calling on businesses around the world to provide more support to parents who need to spend more time with their families.

The singer spoke out today ahead of the World Economic Forum calling for an “early childhood” initiative.

"Governments and the private sector must invest in policies that support parents and give them the resources and time they need to love, nurture and protect their young children," Shakira wrote in a letter.

"We need investment in parenting care programs... and we need parents to understand they have a right to the time and knowledge they need to raise happy, healthy, creative children."

Shakira is not the only A-lister to speak out on this issue, she is joined by Jamie Oliver and Forest Whitaker who are also calling on world leaders to consider legislation for business practices.
