We’re used to celebs taking to their social media channels to share their amazing baby news on the day, but Coronation Street star Mikey North bucked the trend with his child’s birth.
The 30-year-old Corrie star welcomed his first child, son Archie, with wife Rachael Isherwood at the end of last year, but waited until this week to make the announcement.
The couple posed for an exclusive OK! magazine shoot, over three months after becoming parents, on November 10.
Not only did the couple introduce their little one to the world, but they also recalled the details of Rachael’s traumatic 20-hour labour.
“I had to have an episiotomy but, unfortunately, they cut through a vein and I lost one-and-a-half litres of blood,” revealed Rachael.
“It was horrendous, I have never felt pain like it.”
Thankfully, Archie arrived safely into the world, weighing 8lbs 5oz.
It was a particularly frightening experience for the pair, however, who have been married for one year.
“She was throwing up with the pain. I had tears in my eyes just watching,” recalled Mikey.
The doting new father couldn’t help but gush as she lavished praise on Rachael, revealing how ‘proud’ he is of her.
