Much-loved and critically-acclaimed singer, Celine Dion, has endured an incredibly difficult start to 2016 following the death of both her husband René and brother Daniel.

Speaking in the aftermath of the tragic family bereavement, Celine tearfully addressed fans having returned to the Collosseum stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in order to pay tribute to the man with whom she shared three children.

Opening up just weeks after laying her husband of 22 years to rest, the Because You Loved Me singer explained that she felt conflicted, saying: "This is my home away from home. At the same time I'm supposed to feel extremely comfortable being home and right now I'm not sure how comfortable I feel."

Celine, who has won five Grammy awards over the course of her hugely successful career, drew a comparison between her late husband and the mourners who attended his memorial service on Wednesday morning.

"I feel his love in the room. I feel his strength and his warmth being reflected in all of you", she said as she reflected on the passing of the music producer who discovered and brought her to the world's stage in the 1980s.

"René always surrounded me with the best people who believed in us and always worked so hard on our behalf," she told those gathered to remember the 73-year-old father who passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Ending her address with a moving  tribute to her beloved husband, 47-year-old Celine simply said: "René, I love you so much. Merci, good night."

Our thoughts remain with Celine and her family as they attempt to come to terms with their loss.
