According to reports emerging from the States, bosses at NBC are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of chatshow host, Jimmy Fallon.

The dad-of-two, who has sustained three separate injuries over the course of the past four months, has raised alarm among the station's bosses who fear his partying and socialising may be getting out of control.

While the Tonight Show star's drinking habits have been the subject of speculation in recent months, it appears, however, the station are keen to keep him on and even extended his contract until 2021.

Commenting on the star's prowess as a talkshow host, a network spokesman told the New York Post: "Jimmy Fallon is a highly valued member of the NBC family who is both a tireless worker and an extraordinarily gifted performer."

And yet despite this, it appears rumours circulating around the star's alcohol use are on the increase, with an insider asserting: "It's gone from being a whisper to a chatter."

It has been reported that Jimmy's injuries over the course of the last four months have been alcohol-related - something which apparently came as no surprise to bar staff in the star's regular haunts.

Commenting on the star, who was dubbed a 'superfunctioning alcoholic' by former co-star, Horatio Sanz, one barmaid insisted: "He's a mess. Everything you've heard about his behaviour is true."

41-year-old Jimmy shares two daughters with wife of eight years, Nancy Juvonen.
