A reality TV star, who has been the subject of intense media and police scrutiny over recent months, has taken to his social media channels in order to announce the arrival of his fourth child.

Josh Duggar, who recently admitted to cases of sexual molestation as as a teenager, is a former star of 19 Kids and Counting and said to be overjoyed by his family's latest arrival.

Paying tribute to his wife, Anna Duggar, and their daughter, Meredith, Josh wrote: "Announcing the arrival of Meredith Grace Duggar. Anna and Meredith are resting and doing well."

The dad-of-four couldn't hide his delight when sharing two photos of the beautiful new arrival, however comments posted by Instagram users suggest not everyone shares in the new father's joy.

While the majority of comments wish the family well, a number of followers were quick to refer to the reality star's recent scandal which saw the cancellation of the long-running programme - a TV show which featured the majority of the Duggar family.

Replying to one fan's defence of Josh's past actions, one irate internet user wrote: "Old news....? Historical abuse is a crime...so no such thing as old news." (sic)

Josh and Anna are also the proud parents of 5-year-old Mackynzie, 4-year-old Michael and 2-year-old Marcus.
