It looks like the pitter patter of tiny feet won't be heard for quite a while in the Koppang/O'Leary household if X Factor presenter Dermot's latest interview is anything to go by.

The TV star decided to open up about his family life while speaking to Fabulous magazine and admitted that while he knows he and wife, Dee, do see children in their future, they are in no rush to take the plunge just yet.

Dermot and Dee wed in 2012, having dated for ten years, and according to Dermot while he knows he wants to be a dad some day, it needs to happen when both he and his wife are ready for it.

Acknowledging that current work and life commitments play a role in the pair staying a twosome for the time being, Dermot said: "I definitely want kids. But I've got a very wife with a very busy life."

Speaking candidly on the sensitive topic, the 41-year-old presenter said: "I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it's the right thing to happen. It's not fair for me to say: "I want kids now."

Both Dee, who works as a film producer, and Dermot have a chock-full work and social calendar which meant that spending their second wedding anniversary together as a couple just wasn't possible.

Dermot was very matter-of-fact about this and admitted that days will pass before he and his wife get to spend quality time with each other, saying: "Circumstance and life takes over and, before you know it, you haven't seen each properly for a week or two."

We're sure when the time is right for both of them, the pair will add to their family unit and we wish them all the best!
