This past year certainly has been a dramatic one for him, filled with highs and lows and plenty of controversy, and it seems that father-of-two and former reality television star Dan Osborne is keen to move on.

The former TOWIE star, who got engaged to girlfriend Jacqueline Jossa this week, has touched on his ‘mistakes’ and his love for his family in an open letter to his children.

Dan – who is dad to one-year-old son Teddy, and four-month-old daughter Ella – shared his thoughts in Now! magazine.

Addressing Teddy, his son with former partner Megan Tomlin, the 23-year-old wrote: “You’re not always with us and it’s really hard for me to be without you. When I have to take you home to your mum’s, it’s the worst feeling in the world…It’s hard for me to explain to you now, but when you grow up, I hope you appreciate it was the right thing to do for me not to be with your mum.”

Admitting that he feared Teddy and Ella would never meet each other, the doting dad added that he is hoping that his little ones will avoid making the same mistakes that he has.

In a final sweet tribute to Teddy and Ella, Dan wrote: “If I could have more children who are as amazing as you, I’d have 100 of them.”

It looks like the controversy regarding his relationship with Megan Tomlin and his sacking from TOWIE has put Dan in a reflective mood.
