While this woman is no stranger to controversy, it looks like this famous mum-of-three may be forced to make an apology following ill-advised comments she made about dementia sufferers.

Taking to social media to air her views on people who suffer from dementia, columnist Katie Hopkins wrote: "Dementia sufferers should not be blocking beds, What is the point of life when you no longer know you're living it? Bang me over the head."

Horrified by Katie's disregard for individuals diagnosed with the devastating condition, former Wales International Robbie Savage, whose father died after fighting the disease, has slammed the columnist, saying: "Going on Twitter to vent some stupid naive comments beggars belief. I'm mortified."

Opening up about the effect Katie's insensitive remarks had on his family, Robbie, who is an ambassador for the Alzheimer Society, said: "I spoke to my mother, my mother's in tears. I've been in tears tonight because I lost my hero, my father, from a disease which people know nothing about."

Robbie isn't alone in his disgust at Katie's social media rant in which she also claimed: "The day I am diagnosed with dementia is the day I book my ticket to Dignitas."

Following on from Robbie's conversation with Phil Williams on BBC Radio 5 Live, an NHS boss has urged the Celebrity Big Brother contestant to retract her "ill-educated" comments and issue an "unreserved apology".

Katie has since gone on to defend her comments and believes her remarks have shed light on the situation, saying: "For the first time as a nation, we're talking about it coherently."
