He may be a bonafide Hollywood star, but it looks like this acclaimed actor is a real home bird at heart.

Opening up during a candid interview recently, world-famous dad-of-two, Colin Farrell, admitted that on his return home to his native Ireland he often makes a journey to the house in which he grew up.

Travelling to his parent's old home in the Dublin suburb of Castleknock, the actor explains that he reflects on the years he spent there with his parents, brother Eamon Jr and sister Claudine.

Offering details into the solo venture, Colin, who is the father of 12-year-old Jimmy and six-year-old Henry, explained: "I drive back to Castleknock at maybe two o’clock in the morning and park outside my house as if I am in my own self-indulgent film."

The actor, who despite his years in LA never lost his trademark Dublin accent, reveals that returning to Ireland is a moving experience, saying: "I love going home to shoot."

"For me it’s a very deep experience to have been shaped and moulded by that country, which is only a reflection of its history and its history is very colourful and very painful and quite recent," the 39-year-old star of The Lobster said of his native country.

While his parents have long since left the house in Castleknock, the current owners have extended an invite to the star to take a tour of the home in which he grew up, saying: "He’s welcome to come in anytime."

We're sure he'll take them up on that offer at some point!
