It has been revealed that the ex-wife of former Beatle, John Lennon, has passed away today.
Cynthia Lennon, who wed much-loved musician John Lennon during his rise to global stardom, lost her battle with cancer at the age of 75.
Cynthia, who was married to the Imagine singer for six years in the 1960s, shared one son, Julian, with the star.
A statement has been released following Cynthia's death which read: "Cynthia Lennon passed away today at her home in Mallorca, Spain following a short but brave battle with cancer. Her son Julian Lennon was at her bedside throughout."
Thanking the public for their support at this difficult time, a representative for the family said: "The family are thankful for your prayers. Please respect their privacy at this difficult time."
