I don’t worry about looks: Lucy Kennedy slams calls for her to get botox

Lucy Kennedy has opened up about being urged by fans to get botox for the lines on her forehead.

The 43-year-old TV and radio personality has rubbished calls for her to turn to cosmetic surgery for her looks, and is happy to never be considered 'thin'.

She told RSVP Magazine: “I haven’t turned to botox – so many people have said, ‘Would you not get it and sort that line in your forehead?’"

“But it’s just not me. I’m not against anyone doing what they feel comfortable with, but I just want to look like me.

“I don’t worry about looks – I am never going to be thin, I don’t have it in me. I’m a normal 9¾ stone. I’m not a 10, I’m an 11," the TV star continued.

“But while I might give out when I struggle to fit into a pair of jeans, I’m just not willing to sacrifice the takeaways or the glass of wine.”

The brunette joked about showing off her "fat bottom" on her recent Lanzarote family trip.

“I love all the good things in life, I’m a typical Taurus. I looked at myself in a bikini on my holidays and wondered – can I wear a bikini at 43? Should I even be in one with this stomach? I’ll run out now quickly so people can’t see my fat bottom.

“Then I thought, who cares? We all have bottoms. I’ve stretch marks, I breastfed, I get into my Penneys pjs... I’m exactly like everyone else," she laughed, never one to take herself seriously.

“I’m a female in the media but the only difference between me and someone beside me is that my job is televised.”

The mum of three is returning to the screen this autumn with Living With Lucy on Virgin Media One.

Grainne Seoige, Nadine Coyle, Barry Keoghan, John Connors and Deirdre O’Kane will feature in the newest series.

Lucy revealed: “I’ve loved all the guys this time, but I’d great craic with Grainne in South Africa. She has a wicked sense of humour and Barry Keoghan is such a good guy.

“I think Grainne will be the big surprise. People might think she is this serious, cold girl but she is not, she is hilarious.”
