She made her official return to royal duty last week, four months after giving birth to her daughter, and Kate Middleton is getting up to speed with her charities once more this week.

The Duchess stepped out today to visit the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust at a women’s prison in Surrey.

The mother-of-two is a patron of the addiction charity Action on Addiction, and she met with centre representatives to discuss their important work.

Commenting on the significance of the Duchess’ appearance today, a Kensington Palace representative said: “The visit reflects the Duchess’ interest in learning how organisations support people living with substance misuse issues, and the impact of addiction within the wider family network.”

“She is aware that addictions lie at the heart of so many social issues and the destructive role that substance misuse plays in vulnerable people’s and communities’ lives,” the rep added.

Needless to say, the Duchess looked smart and sophisticated in a light grey dress by The Fold.

For her very first post-maternity leave appearance last week, the Duchess discussed child mental health with the team behind the Anna Freud Centre.
