Yesterday, a rep for Michael J. Fox announced that the beloved actor recently underwent spinal surgery.

The Back to the Future star's operation was 'unrelated' to his Parkinson's disease, the rep noted.

His spokesperson Leslie Sloane said to E! News, "He is recovering, feeling great, and looking forward to getting back on the golf course this summer."

We are happy to hear he is in such good spirits.

The father-of-four appeared on Good Morning America earlier this month.

He discussed his role on the TV show Designated Survivor and the work of the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and aiding those living with the condition.

The 56-year-old was first diagnosed with Parkinson's disease when he was 29, but didn't disclose that he was living with the disease until eight years later.

He shared words of encouragement for others with the condition: "I always drive the point home: We are the answer we're looking for. We have the answers within us somewhere.

"We need to find a way to identify the disease before symptoms ever exist. People say 'Is there a cure?' There's not a cure, we have a lot of questions to answer before then, but we're answering them."

What an inspirational man. We hope his recovery from surgery continues to go smoothly.
