Creating a relaxing living room is easy to do, and you probably have most of these items in your home already.
- Pop a vase or two around the room to add colour and life.
- Make use of candles, both scented and non-scented, and scatter them around the room. Don’t forget to light them - that’s what they are there for.
- Get rid of any toys or mess that simply clutters the space. This will immediately make you feel a lot more relaxed.
- Lots of various textures around the furniture will make it feel warmer and therefore more relaxing.
- A large rug in the centre of the room will make everything seem cosier and more inviting.
- Fill your couch with lots and lots of pillows.
- Use subtle lighting - avoid using anything too harsh or bright.
- Make use of natural light as much as possible.
- Hang family pictures that will leave you feeling happy all over the walls.
- Don’t forget about books, but only ones that you like reading – put the more work/ school related ones in the study.
