Domini Kemp never fails to impress us here at MummyPages and her new cookbook has even managed to exceed our expectations.  Domini at home is a book that is devoid of fussy preparations and complicated ingredients and instead is filled with straight-forward good food that you will enjoy preparing just as much as you will enjoy eating.

This is Domini’s follow up book to her hugely successful debut entitled Itsa Cookbook.  She is also a successful chef and business woman, who alongside her sister operate the very successful ITSA cafes and restaurants. Domini focuses on midweek meals, value-added recipes, recycling and practical foods that can be frozen or work within a 3-day menu.

This cookbook is filled with 100 recipes that just about anyone can prepare at home. The book is divided into chapters; fancy casual, getting it into them-family favourites, salads, sides, soups & starters and vegetarian.
Some of the recipes we couldn’t wait to try included; lime, chilli and ginger prawns, lazy veg lasagne, spiced chicken with garlic cream and cheese and thyme potato pots. The recipes were so easy to follow and the results were clear judging by the empty plates that adorned the table!

For those sweet tooth’s amongst us, Domini hasn’t forgotten you, there’s a whole decadently indulgent chapter dedicated to the best part of any meal- dessert, including such showstoppers as banana puddings with toffee sauce, cinnamon and brown sugar crème brulee ice-cream and a sinfully rich chocolate, hazelnut and muscavado tart.

Domini at home is beautifully photographed and lovingly put together. The recipes selected and easy to follow and guaranteed to become firm-family favourites. So, this Christmas if you have someone in your life who might be looking to spice up their kitchen repertoire then look no further. We can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t want to find this book under their tree.
