Some happy baby news from the world of television this morning as it's been revealed that former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan is three months pregnant.

The actress, who played the role of Rosie Webster for 12 years, is expecting her first child with her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair.

The couple have been together for around two years.

A friend close to the actress confirmed the happy news, telling The Mirror that the expectant parents were over the moon. "It's a much-wanted pregnancy which makes it all the sweeter. Helen is so thrilled."

Although she has yet to confirm the news herself, Helen has been speaking on Twitter about feeling under the weather, which a friend says is down to morning sickness. "It hasn’t been easy for Helen. She’s been feeling poorly," a source said.

The 24-year-old has previously spoken about her desire to start a family early on, saying, "I'd like four eventually. I'd like to have two in my twenties and two in my thirties."

She also recently openly spoke about her plans to try for a baby, saying she had considered stopping her acne medication as interfere with chances of getting pregnant. "I'm on Accutane because I get quite bad acne – you can't get pregnant on the drug, and it takes a while to get out of your system," she said in an interview earlier this year. "I want to make sure I'm really, really, healthy before I try, check my hormones and stuff."

Although she does plan to marry Scott one day, the actress said she would prefer to have children first. "Scott and I have talked about tying the knot on a beach. But I think we would like a few children first...I have always liked the idea of having your children at your wedding," she said in an interview.

Congrats to Helen and Scott!
