When Hector Cruz’s wife gave birth to the couple’s first child, Hector came face to face with the problems many breastfeeding mums have to deal with, including “negative reactions and lack of public support.”
Worried by what he found, the American dad embarked on a national campaign Project Breastfeeding to “de-stigmatise breastfeeding in public, to educate men, and to empower women to feel comfortable with feeding their baby.”
Project Breastfeeding is a series of photos of dads pretending to nurse with the caption “If I Could, I Would”. The campaign also hopes to raise money to launch co-ed breastfeeding support classes in 2015.
