Louise McSharry welcomes her first child AND reveals the name

Congratulations are in order today for Louise McSharry who has welcomed her first child with her husband, Gordon.

The 2fm DJ took to social media to announce the good news saying:

“Happy to say we have our baby.”

Bought this dress and little jacket in @primark last week as a treat to cheer myself up after the doctor in the Rotunda said 'See you next week!' on my due date.

Louise also took the opportunity to announce the gender and the little one’s name.

“He is the best thing ever and his name is Sam.”

The pair announced the news in April in a lengthy blog post where Louise spoke about her struggles to conceive.

Having beaten Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, she was told the chances of her getting pregnant were very low.

"A few months after we started trying, I got pregnant. We spent the seven weeks between finding out and going for a scan in total disbelief, barely telling anyone, and trying not to get our hopes up. This wasn’t meant to have happened!"
