A US mum has shared adorable footage of her formerly-conjoined twin sons cuddling, six weeks after a surgeon successfully separated them.

Anais and Jaden McDonald are craniopagus twins, meaning they were joined at the head when they were born, in September 2015.

They weren’t expected to live beyond the age of two if they stayed conjoined, and they recently underwent an invasive 16-hour procedure to be separated.

Thankfully, the surgery was successful and, six weeks later, the tots are absolutely thriving!

Mum Nicole McDonald took to Facebook this week, to share sweet footage of her sons cuddling and gurgling over the word ‘dada’.

The footage has warmed the hearts of thousands around the world, who have been following the progress of Anais and Jaden since birth.

“So happy for you guys. I know how hard it is, and so I wish you all the happiness and good health,” wrote one supporter.

Elsewhere, a fellow parent added: “My little boy, who is 17 months, loves watching the videos, and I tell him how brave your boys are. So pleased they are doing so well.”
