Not many of us have much time in the mornings for a make-up ritual that takes 20/ 30 minutes. For us, the quicker the better.

Thankfully it can be done. With a little bit of preparation the night before, here’s how you can do your make-up in ten minutes, and yes we have tried it.

The night before
Make sure you remove all traces of make-up the night before. Moisturise and have your skin clean and ready for the morning.

In the morning:

Quick face wash
Give your face another quick rinse to remove any oil which has come up overnight. One minute.

Moisturise
Moisturise your face and apply a primer (if using). 30 seconds

Foundation
Next you need to apply your foundation. This will take a bit of time to properly blend and cover blemishes. Three minutes.

Face powder
Keep your foundation in place by dabbing powder on over it. 30 seconds.

Mascara
Liberally apply two or three coats of mascara to your eyes. Take your time to avoid any mishaps that will need to be wiped away. 2½ minutes.

Eyeliner
With a steady hand, neatly apply your liner to your lower lashes. No need to do your upper ones for daytime wear. One minute.

Blusher
Sweep a little blusher across the apple of your cheeks, remembering to blend properly. One minute.

Lipgloss
Finally, finish off your look with a dab of gloss on your lips. 30 seconds.
