7-year-old girl killed in tragic driveway accident in Louth

A seven-year-old girl has died in a tragic accident in Drogheda, Co. Louth. The schoolgirl lost her life when a car accidentally rolled back and pinned her up against a gate.

The schoolgirl has been named locally as Chantelle Keenan.

It is understood that the young girl was playing with a group of friends when the incident took place.

She was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital’s emergency department, but despite the team’s efforts, Chantelle was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The schoolgirl’s death is being treated as a “tragic accident.” Gardaí are currently carrying out an investigation.
