A fatal road traffic collision has occurred in Tipperary

Gardaí in Cahir are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that happened on the N24 at Ballydrehid, Cahir this morning, Tuesday 15th January, 2019 at 8.30a.m. 

The female driver, who was 19-years-old, was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with a tree.

Her body has been taken from the scene and brought to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem will take place. 

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place and Garda forensic collision investigators are examining the crash site.

Gardaí who are investigating are appealing for witnesses who may have travelled the road or can assist them.
