Babies with big heads are more likely to be successful, study reveals

Does your baby have a slightly bigger-than-normal head?

If so, this could be a sign of something great, according to a study.

The study, published in the Molecular Psychiatry, said that infants with larger heads went on to be smart kids and later on in life, intelligent adults.

The study suggests that there are links between brain size, head size, and IQ, however head circumference isn't directly linked with intelligence.

So in other words, a big head correlates to good genes.

UK Biobank led the study and they looked at half a million UK residents to determine the link between their genes, their physical and mental health.

What they found was that people with higher cognitive test scores had larger heads as babies and better cognitive abilities as kids.

So - the bigger the head, the more intelligent you are an adult so it seems.

The likelihood of a child going to higher education can also be determined by their head size.

While things like thickness fo bones have to be taken into account, the study said that it's likely a bigger head means a bigger brain.

We must also take into account that bigger brains aren't necessarily smarter than smaller ones and it takes 9 to 18 months before a baby's skull is fully formed.

So if you had a larger-than-average head as a child, you should embrace it.
