The Battle for the Bay will be returning to Dollymount Strand for its eight year on Saturday, 24th and Sunday, 25th May 2014.

Considered one of the best beaches in the world for kite surfing, Dollymount Strand in Clontarf will be transformed into a veritable water wonderland as the world’s best kitesurfers descend on the beach.

Legendary champion surfers, including Ireland’s own Katie McAnena, will be on the beach to showcase their spectacular skills and gravity defying moves, as they skim the water surface and compete for the coveted King or Queen of the Bay crown. You can take part or simply be a spectator by watching some of the best surfers in the world take part.

There will be demonstrations on the beach, free Battle for the Bay shows, paddle boarding and kite surfing introductions for newcomers.

However, if you would rather stay on the sand and have some fun, there will be a big beach volleyball competition, introductions on all the Pure Magic Sports for kids, a Litter to Art workshop organised by DCC and Surfrider Foundation, a funfair and lots more.
