Is anyone else tired of the same old breakfasts?

We've decided to mix it up with some exciting morning meal options for you and your little ones that are simple and tasty.

From hearty winter spreads to immunity-boosting smoothies, here are some breakfast suggestions that you can add to your repertoire.

1. Peanut butter and pear on toast

Peckish but don't want to eat something huge first thing in the morning? Try slicing a few pears on peanut butter toast (We love the Be Good range from Brennans) for your little ones, and maybe cream cheese and a few healthy nuts for yourself.  A protein filled snack that you don't have to feel guilty about.

2. Three-minute omelette

Jazz up brekkie with this three-minute omelette. Beat two eggs, add sundried tomatoes and served with chopped spinach and feta. What a way to start the day! And for the kiddos? Ham and cheese - never fails.

3. Healthy peanut butter and jelly sambo

The kids will love this as a mid-morning snack at the weekend (also known as a second breakfast!) It's a version of the healthy peanut butter and jelly: Get some toasted bread and spread on organic crunchy peanut butter (no added salt/sugar). And for the adults? Add some crunched raspberries. Perfect imagination fuel!

4. Banana smoothie

What about indulging in something a little smoother? Try this banana smoothie: mix coconut/almond milk, frozen bananas, almond butter, chia seeds in a blender and serve. And for the kids? Add a little cocoa powder. Yum!

5. Hummus and brown bread mix

If you are trying to encourage little palates to try new and healthier options, why not try some hummus on brown bread with carrot ribbons, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. A healthy mix that will keep you going until lunch. Leave off the seeds when serving kids if you think they'll just throw their noses up at them.

6. Mashed avocado on toast

Struggling to come up with something new for morning time? We love this superfood way to start your day.  Mash avocado onto a slice of Brennans Be Good wholemeal toast and add a boiled egg. And for the adults... add a few slices of cucumber to really jazz things up. Delicious AND healthy.

7. Goat's cheese grilled slices

Make your own morning-time hero! - Sprinkle goat's cheese, roasted red peppers, cucumber, pine nuts, spread on your toast, grill it up and watch those slices disappear! The kids will look on in fear at the cheese - so maybe stick to some healthy Nutella and chopped banana for them!

8. Berry and honey toast

Berry nice! Nothing like a bit of your five a day to start your day. Chop up some cherries or blueberries and scatter generously over your morning toast. Drizzle some honey for extra va-va-voom. We recommend placing them in a funny design for your little ones - like a smiling face made from blueberries.

Happy breakfasting everyone!
