Emmerdale actor Freddie Jones has sadly passed away at the age of 91. The actor played Sandy Thomas on the beloved soap for 13 years.
The actor died following a short illness.
Hs agent Lesley Duff confirmed the heartbreaking news this afternoon.
He commented, “He passed away on the evening of July 9 after a short illness.
“Freddie was a much loved and admired actor, known for his triumphs in classical theatre, film and television. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and most especially his family.”
The actor was also known for his roles in The Caesars and The Birthday Party. Mr Jones also appeared in David Lynch's films The Elephant Man, Dune and Wild at Heart.
