She was discovered in the car close to Dundrum village at approximately 1:45 pm this afternoon, according to RTE.

She was rushed by ambulance to the local GAA field where an air ambulance took her to University Hospital Limerick.

Sadly, she did not recover and was pronounced dead this afternoon, according to a spokesperson from UHL. A garda spokesman confirmed that the baby died shortly after 5 pm this evening.

Gardaí attended the scene and they have described the baby’s death as a tragedy. It's unclear yet how the baby died, however, The Irish Mirror reports heatstroke is suspected.

The little girl was the only child of a local couple from Kilfeakle and gardai believe she was found inside her father's car after he went to work in Dundrum. It's believed she had been in the car for several hours when she was found.

Gardai are investigating the circumstances leading up to the tragic death and a file on the death is being prepared for Tipperary County Coroner.
