As the temperature heats up, now is the perfect time to start getting your garden ready for the summer. And, with a little bit of thought and creativity, you can have gorgeous, full beds that will be the envy of all your neighbours.
Gardenias
With their beautiful sweet smell and delicate petals, gardenias would be perfect for your front beds. Plant in partial sun exposure with a soil pH of between 5 and 6 .
Hibiscus
With many different colours the hibiscus plant will bring a pop of colour to your garden. Plant in full sun with well-draining soil.
Geraniums
Perfect for our unpredictable weather, geraniums are hardy and work well in all types of conditions. They thrive in temperatures of between 18°C and 21°C and well-watered soil.
Jasmine
Plant these flowers right outside your front or back door to enjoy their gorgeous scent to the max. They also make a great impact when trained to grow alongside a trellis or wall. Place in full sun after they've bloomed and stop pruning by August.
Dahlia
Bright and vibrant these bold blooms resemble cactus flowers. They love full sun and should only be planted when the frost is completely gone.
