This Sunday, 9th November, students from DIT will be hosting the Butterfly and Bumblebee Family Nature Walk in aid of LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice.

Taking place in St Enda’s Park in Rathfarnham, the walk will begin at 11am with face painting and entertainment for the kids.

The walk is about a mile long and on the way around you will pass quaint bridges, beautiful trees, the famous Pearse Museum and if you’re lucky you might even spot a sneaky squirrel.

Children can choose to be a butterfly or a bumblebee as they buzz around the lovely park with family and friends.

The walk will finish back at the courtyard where refreshments will be provided, and everyone who takes part will be entered into a raffle which will take place after the event.

Talking ahead of the event, Ciara Murnane, Vice President for Events at DIT Students Union, said: “We always love seeing what fantastic ideas students come up with to raise money for our RAG charity and this year was no exception! The girls have a great family friendly event that everyone can enjoy including DIT students. We hope to see a great turnout on the day.”

Families can register for €20, adults for €10 and kids for €5. This is sure to be a lovely day out for the whole family and it is for such a great charity.

For further information, check out the event’s Facebook page. If you can’t make the walk, you can still donate on their MyCharity.ie page.

LauraLynn is a hospice for children with life limiting conditions. Based in Dublin they provide palliative care and support for children and their families. Their holistic approach to care enables them to support the whole family allowing parents to be ‘Mum and Dad’ rather than full time carers.
