​Canalphonic Music and Culture Festival, will take place on Friday, 8th and Saturday, 9th May, throughout Portobello and Rathmines.

 

It is a completely free community festival and includes plenty of day- and night-time activities that will suit the whole family.

 

Throughout the festival, there will be art/craft exhibitions, markets, pop-up acoustic sets and guerrilla spoken word performances and local cafés, restaurants and takeaways will be offering discounted prices to festival attendees.

 

To coincide with the arrival of barges participating in the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland’s Dublin Rally, there will be a boutique market at Portobello Harbour from 11am – 9.30pm on the Saturday, along with barge trips and family-fun activities. 

 

A second stage will be in place from 2- 5pm at Rathmines Plaza which will feature Trad musicians from Rathmines College CDBET, with children’s activities taking place at the front of St Mary's College.
