When selecting a facial mask for dry skin, make sure to look for ingredients that moisturize and are formulated especially for dry skin. Products with added emollients and vitamins are best for eliminating the tired ashy look of dehydrated, flaky skin.

Apply facial masks after cleansing and exfoliating for best results. For even better results, use a warm, wet towel on your face for about 5 minutes to open the pores prior to applying the facial mask.

Here are some products that will work best on dry skin:
  • Honey is one of the best natural moisturizers. Honey is packed with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. While the honey moisturizes, the propolis extract soothes dry skin with its anti-inflammatory properties. Propolis extract is also rich in bioflavenoids which guard against capillaries damage.
  • Shea butter is probably the most hydrating ingredient you can find in a facial mask. Shea butter feels great on dry skin because it is ultra nourishing and hydrating. Look for a facial mask that contains shea butter and olive oil or coconut oil for lasting softness and no flaky dry skin. If you like the results of using shea butter, keep in mind that you can also purchase other skin care products that contain shea butter.
  • Collagen facial masks are another choice for dry skin. Collagen masks not only nourish dehydrated skin, then reach deep into the skin to boost the production of collagen. When you use a collagen mask, it’s best to steam open your pores first so the ingredients can sink in deep.
As with all facial masks, we recommend that you start out slow. Start using the mask once per week until you know what the effects are. If you have no adverse reaction, increase to twice per week .
