A five-year-old girl has passed away in a tragic accident in Germany. The Cork schoolgirl died following an incident in a holiday complex swimming pool.
It is believed she was visiting her grandparents at the time.
She has been named as Emmy Sophia Eckert. The five-year-old lived in Ballinacolig, Co.Cork with her parents and three siblings.
Her parents were alerted about her death by text and are said to be extremely heartbroken.
Emmy's funeral will take place on Monday, August 19 at 11am at the Bible Baptist Activity Centre in Innishmore Business Park.
She will be laid to rest in St Oliver's Cemetry.
A Go-Fund-Me page has been set up to help with the costs of Emmy's funeral.
