Ardgillan Castle will play host to Ravelóid, a BRAND NEW unique Irish festival that takes place on Friday, 10th and Saturday, 11th June 2016.

Whether you are a fluent Gaeilgeoir or only have a cúpla focal, the two day event will give festival goers the opportunity to immerse themselves in 21st century Irish with music, comedy, spoken word and special activities for kids 12 and under.

The spectacular site will fit 5,000 Ravelóidí, and there is a special campsite for families that provides a sanctuary away from the rock and roll epicentre of the festival.

As well as the Delorentos and Hamsandwich, other acts include: Seo Linn, The Riptide Movement, Kíla, Heathers, Mundy, Hot House Flowers, Dublin Gospel Choir, Altan, Bréag, Mo Hat Mo Gheansaí, TG Lurgan and MANY more!

Organised by Conradh na Gaeilge, Glór na nGael, Nós, Oireachtas, Union of Students Ireland, Foras na Gaeilge, Fingal County Council and the official 1916 Centenary Programme, Ravelóid will offer everyone, whether you’re fluent in English or Irish, the chance to mingle as Gaeilge.

The site will be transformed into a veritable Gaelic vista with signs, campsites and stages as Gaeilge and, of course, no festival would be complete without food and bars, so there’ll be plenty of opportunity to use cúpla focal

But don’t worry, there won’t be a scrúdú béil on the gate and you will get by without speaking the lingo.

To get yourself in the musical mood, the lovely people behind the festival have produced an album, Ceol 2016, with a host of stars singing their big hits as Gaeilge, including Ed Sheeran!
