The Cork University Hospital Charity will host their inaugural Diamond Wishes Black and Bling Ball on the 19th April at Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork. This fundraiser is in aid of CUH’s €1.5m appeal to refurbish the existing Children’s Unit at CUH. Tickets are only €50 each and all the proceeds will go directly to the appeal.

The Ball kicks off at 7.15pm with a lovely drinks reception, which is then followed by a three course meal and music from well-known band, Indigo. There will also be a raffle for some fabulous prizes including a bespoke Designworks Studio diamond ring.

Organiser, Marie Watson, Acting Clinical Nurse Manager 3 said “We really hope that this event will bring the community together in an effort to give our Children’s Unit the refurbishment it so desperately needs. Diamond Wishes hopes to bring dreams true for the children and their parents who need to attend the Children’s Unit.   We have a great night planned and we’re urging all parents as well as our staff to come out and support the Ball to help us to improve the facilities for the Children.”

The CUH Charity was set up with the aim to improve equipment and facilities across all departments at CUH. Every year, up to 9,000 children are admitted to the Children’s Unit at the hospital, 5,000 attend the Children’s Day Unit and 10,000 are seen in the out-patient department. This makes it one of the busiest Children’s Units in Ireland.

The Diamond Wishes Black and Bling Ball is kindly supported by The Rochestown Park Hotel, Synergy Security Solutions, Designworks Studio and Peter Kelly of Weddings by Franc. For information on how you can support the appeal, contact Joe Browne at joe@cuhcharity.ie.
