Earlier today we reported on a very dramatic birth story in the US, and this latest one is a lot closer to home.

According to reports, a teacher recently gave birth in the toilet of a North Dublin school.

Sources claim that the new mother went into labour early while teaching last week. Although emergency services were called, the woman ended up being rushed into a nearby bathroom where a special needs assistant (SNA) helped to deliver the child.

After an emergency services operator guided the SNA through the process over the phone, an ambulance arrived at the school to transport the teacher and her baby to hospital.

Very few details have been released, as the two women in question did not wish to be publicly identified, but the Irish Mail reports that both mum and baby are doing well after the surprise delivery.

The latest report comes after a homeless woman in the US reportedly gave birth prematurely on the street this week. It was an unidentified bike messenger who came to her aid, and she has since claimed that she did not know she was pregnant.

We hope that both mothers and their babies are recovering and doing well.
