Viewers of ITV’s This Morning got a bit more than they bargained for today, after one guest shared the story of how he ate his wife’s placenta.
Ross Watson’s wife Heather recently gave birth to their son Lachlan; and while the 32-year-old initially ‘joked’ about eating the afterbirth, he went on to sit down to a plate of placenta and baked beans when the tot was just days old!
Sharing the details of his experience with show hosts Philip and Holly, Ross said: “It didn’t taste of much, but the cooked one was juicier. It was quite salty, chewy – a bit like liver or badly cooked pork.”

While wife Heather initially thought the concept was ‘a little bit disgusting’, in the end she simply put it down to Ross’ quirky personality.
Viewers at home were unable to see the funny side, however, with some even admitting to changing the channel and ‘dry-heaving’ over the segment.
“He is trying to justify a form of cannibalism. Eating human body parts…what else can you call it? Absolutely sickening,” tweeted one viewer.

#ThisMorning is putting me off my breakfast today! Why would anyone want to eat a placenta?

Meanwhile, another branded the segment ‘revolting’, adding: “YUCK! The placenta-eating man has literally put me off my coffee morning.”
