It’s safe to say the Dublin team are a class act following their latest gesture.

After their All-Ireland win, the Dublin team visited patients at both Temple Street Hospital and Our Lady’s Children Hospital Crumlin.

The visit is a huge highlight for youths who are suffering from a variety of health woes.

Seeing the well-loved sportsmen and getting the chance to hold the famous Sam McGuire trophy really cheers them up.

The team posed with fans at both hospitals on Monday, September 3, however, one young boy missed out on the celebrations.

Mark Lee was unable to meet the All-Ireland champions because he was on a different ward during their visit.

Darren Daly and Philly McMahon heard about Mark’s story and decided to surprise the young boy.

The duo visited his hospital ward and even brought the Sam McGuire trophy with them.

They posed for photos with Mark who was certainly thrilled by his special visitors.

“Brilliant to see the lads went back with Sam today to see Mark who missed them on Monday because he was on a different ward in Crumlin hospital. Well done Philly and Darren” tweeted the Hill 16 Army.

The public praised Philly and Darren: “Not in the least bit surprised at all. It’s what they are as people. Utter class off and on the field.”

Another said: “I can only imagine the joy & delight this brought to this wee dude & his family! In a very lonely place, I’m sure it made his week! Well done lads.”

This act of kindness proves just how caring the team are. They always find time to give back to the community who have supported them through the years.
